CHRISTY SMITH
CPS I- Director
Christy has been with the coalition since 2015 and is the Director. Her duties include oversight of the Coalition, managing the multiple funding sources that support the Coalition’s work. Duties include making connections with community organizations, guiding employees, and grant writing. Christy manages all the requirements to maintain state and federal requirement for our 501c3 status.

Megan Edens
SORII Coordinator
Megan manages the SORII grant with the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services and works with Christy on our State Block Grant. Megan implements the CLD (Count It! Lock It! Drop It) program into our community. This program is for safe medication storage. Megan partners with 1st responders, medical offices, and pharmacies to provide free Narcan and Fentanyl Strips. Megan is responsible for planning and insuring plan implementation for SORII and Block Grant. She is trained as an INDEPTH instructor which focuses on smoking/vaping education and will be certified as a CPRS (Certified Peer Recovery Specialist) in February 2024.

Rae Thomas
DFC Program Director
Rae joined the coalition in January 2022 as the SOR II Coordinator, November 2023 she will step into her new role as DFC Program Director. She manages the DFC program grant and works closely with Katie on community events and programs. She oversees the HOPE mentoring program, is a certified INDEPTH instructor, collaborates with schools, and inputs all data into spreadsheets to capture our outreach in the community. Rae helps facilitate focus groups and recruit youth in our community for a youth coalition. Rae also works on the COVID-19/Marijuana Grant with the State of Tennessee and builds relationships with community partners and initiates community forums.

KATIE SLAGLE
Mentoring Coordinator
Katie joined the coalition in December 2021. She is the DFC (Drug Free Community) Grant Mentoring Coordinator. Katie closely works with the middle and high school counselors and teachers to recruit our Mentors and Mentees for our HOPE mentoring program. Katie manages our sticker shock campaign, designs our website and community flyers. She is our Teen Mental Health First Aid certified instructor and trains 10th grade students on MH 1st Aid. She facilitates focus groups for youth, acts as our SADD High School advisor, works closely with the YMCA and UT Extension on programs, and collaborates with our SORII Coordinator and DFC Program Director. Katie will receive her CPS certificate in late 2023.
